Hey all,
I've been hearing a lot about qwitter not letting people log in, and I've had this problem. When I try to log on, it brings up an error message, and asks me to pick a session and type the session name. I do that and hit okay, and still no luck. I'm not sure what the issue with qwitter is, does anyone know why I might be getting this error message? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and still no luck. If anyone could be of any help, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Kat
what is the error message you're getting?
You're not the only one getting that message. I've heard a few people saying if you delete and recreate the session, it'll work, but I don't know. Also, I've heard twitter is having a lot of errors, too, so it might just be twitter, if that's what you're using it for. Sorry I can't be of more help.
i'm having a problem now too. Got the latest beta installed, and can't authorize Qwitter from the the Twitter itself nor start a new session. Using Windows XP Home and also have Windows 7 Home Premium, Window-Eyes 7.51 and all critical updates.
I was also getting the message about not being able to start a new session. What worked for me is strange, but I'll mention it anyway. Someone told me I should erase the log file. Instead, though, I just went into the file and erased some text from it. I can't say how much I erased, since I just decided to remove a random amount. After that, I tried starting a new session, and it worked perfectly. It's even faster now! I'm too thankful to the one that suggested the log file thing! I hope this helps.
It is always bold to assert that something will work for definite, but here's what I'd suggest, I'm as close to sure that this will work as it is possible to be when dealing with computers.
First uninstall Qwitter. Once that is done in your run dialogue type "%appdata%" without the quotes and in there you will see a Qwitter folder. Delete that folder and then reinstall Qwitter afresh.
I'm as certain as I can be that that will fix your issue for you. In that folder all of your Qwitter info is stored and it doesn't go away when you uninstall Qwitter which can then lead to conflicts when you reinstall.
Best of luck.
Dan.
Hi, so I just changed my twitter username (TheEgyptianOwl) from Ariana Ethaitrius, and my password, but i have qwitter and I tried to log in and it said: please provide your credentials after I entered the password. I tried uninstalling the qwitter program on my laptop and if I alt tab, it is open at the log in page on qwitter. I can't have to man things open on my laptop as it can get slow. Each time I try cancelling it though it goes back to the log in screen every couple of minutes later. I can't uninstall it it says retry button and I tab and it says qwitter log app or something like that, any help would be appreciated.
if you're still using a version of Qwitter earlier than 5, you'll need to upgrade, as twitter has changed the way you authorize apps. I'm not sure if the Qwitter page is even still up anymore, as the project has been discontinued. I suggest switching to either Twitmonger, or The Qube. someone took the Qwitter source code and continued the project, so you will find that both programs will be almost identical. I use The Qube myself, so I have no idea how Twitmonger is doing currently, but I haven't seen any news about it being down, so it should still exist if you wanted to check it out. Hope that helps.
